Save Games for Planescape: Torment

These save games for Planescape: Torment are for the old cardbox version with 4
CD's, patched up to v1.1. I did not use any additional mods or cheats. A full
install was made by hand, but I don't think that makes any diffence anyway.

PLEASE BE WARNED THAT THE FOLLOWING TEXT MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS!

Even though the save games cover my first (and probably only) run through the
game, I sometimes took a sneak peak in the following excellent sources:

Dan Simpson's FAQ v1.8 (main source of guidance)
Doug Radcliffe's Game Guide for Gamespot
	Nicholas Yu's FAQ v1.52
	Interplay's forum for Planescape: Torment
The forum at Planet Baldur's Gate

After reading tips on various forums, I decided to go with the following party
throughout the game, arranged in the following order:

	Nameless One
	Morte
	Dak'kon
	Annah
	Fall-from-Grace
	Nordom

I took Ignus along for the trip to UnderSigil but threw him out when I got back to
Clerk's Ward. I never met Vhailor (more about that below).

Further tips from forums suggested that I would gain most from playing Nameless One
as a mage, so I decided to go with this as early as possible. I managed to convert
to mage at around fighter level 6 by completing Old Mebbeth's errands. Here is how
I distributed the ability points for Nameless One at the start, compared to what he
was like when I arrived at the last scene in the game:

				Start (Mortuary)	End (Fortress Roof)

Level 3 16 (before bronze sphere)
	XP 6000 2328996
	HP 20 139
	AC 10 -4
	Alignment True Neutral Lawful Good

	Strength 9 10
	Dexterity 11 12
	Constitution 9 19
	Intelligence 15 25 (max)
	Wisdom 18 25 (max)
	Charisma 13 22

If you have read Dan Simpson's FAQ, you can see that I followed his suggestions to
the letter. I concentrated mainly on adding points to WIS, then INT, then CHA, and
following that CON. Fitting for a mage and to gain the best XP bonuses. Note that
the stats listed for Fortress Roof includes bonuses from tatoos and items. And most
important - BIG SPOILER - I had the bronze sphere with me on the Fortress Roof but
have not included its effects in the stats listed above. (The bronze sphere may in
fact give you a whopping 2.000.000 XP and several levels when used!)

I was relatively thorough during the game and investigated almost all areas in the
game, except Player's Maze, which seemed more like punishment than a quest. I never
cheated in the game. In fact, even though the above text may not indicate it, I
actually didn't read much in any FAQ. I wanted to keep most of the subquests and
surprises intact, so I usually only consulted an FAQ *after* completing an area to
see if I missed something - and a rare once in a while when I was afraid that a
certain dialog choice would punish me, like when meeting the Pillar of Skulls.

In general, I have the following notes about these save games:

  * I won't start listing all the equipment I obtained. Suffice it to say that
the party members got cool weaponry, e.g. Morte got the Ingress' Teeth.
Nameless One was perhaps neglected in that department, since he was a mage.
To make up for that I made him (and Dak'kon) learn quite a few spells.

  * For temporary storage, I used a container in the northwest corner of Alley
of Dangerous Angles, which seemed like a good place since it was right in
the middle of the other areas of The Hive. In the southeast corner of the
same area, I used a container for trash like skulls. Both spots were marked
    on the map.

  * I always followed the Lawful Good alignment. The first time I became Lawful
Good was after turning Soego in to Hargrimm in Dead Nations. Only in Carceri
did it bump back to Neutral Good, and then only for a very short while.

  * I almost messed up the Silent King subquest, where I had to discover his
secret for Many-As-One. When I talked to Stale Mary my CHA was only 13 thus
could not get her to tell me how to see the Silent King. I got out of Dead
Nations before raising CHA, so it seemed like a dead subquest. Much later,
while in Clerk's Ward, I went back and pickpocketed Hargrimm with Annah in
order to get the key. A battle still began when I opened the door, but at
least I got to see the Silent King and tell Many-As-One about it.

  * Even though I took a vow to Pharod about not telling anyone about where he
got his corpses, I still told two contacts about it *after* Pharod was dead.
It didn't seem to affect my alignment at that time.

  * As mentioned earlier, I only had Ignus in my party while visiting the
optional UnderSigil. As soon as I got back, I threw him out of the party
and went with a crew of five for a time. I only visited UnderSigil this one
    time in the game.

  * Probably my biggest blunder in the game was not walking behind the portal
in Curst Prison, meaning that I never even met Vhailor. It wasn't the end of
the world as I didn't want to have him in my party anyway, but I did lose
out on a few good XP by just talking to him there.

  * The first time I visited The Foundry, I took the three tests and became a
Godsman. I did not change faction for the remainder of the game.

  * Another lost opportunity was that I actually fought and defeated the Evil
Wizard Construct *before* finding Nordom and accepting him as the sixth and
final party member. If I had done it the other way round, I would have been
able to get a lot of XP bonuses from talking to Nordom.

  * At Pillar of Skulls, i lied about the location of Fhjull to get information
about the Fortress of Regrets. However, I still forgot to ask Fhjull how to
get out of Baator, hence I also had to ask Pillar of Skulls about this. That
cost Nameless One 15 MaxHP (from 55 to 40) - an unnecessarily harsh loss by
Black Isle, if you ask me. As if Nameless One wasn't weak enough already.
(Yes, as you can probably tell, that really pissed me off!)

  * As soon as I entered "Curst Gone", I defeated the box fiend. A fun battle
by the way - I kept running around a ruin wall with him on Nameless One's
tail, while the other party members hit him in the back. The few times I got
him in the exact opposite side of the wall, I let Nameless One cast a few
devastating spells in his face. This fiend may have been the strongest
enemy in the game, but the battle sure was a lot funnier than a lot of other
dreadful dungeons - such as the Modron's Maze and UnderSigil.

  * Apart from the exceptions noted above, I was actually quite thorough and I
did solve *all* the subquests I picked up along the way in my journal. You
will find nothing hanging when entering Ravel's Maze.

The last save game states day 30 at about 21:11.
